Family field trip to BBG

Today we explored the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Mark and Ike had never been there before. Within 10 minutes of entering we saw a red-tailed hawk with a decapitated rabbit in its talon get dive-bombed by swarms of smaller, angry & defensive birds. The hawk was not phased. Then, we had a snack break, followed by a smelling of roses. On the way out of the Garden we identified a rare species of tree. Ike did a great job, sleeping and/or nursing throughout the entire adventure, and we left feeling joyful and blessed at having experienced another of Brooklyn's many treasures.
